Music by Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835)
Libretto by Felice Romani, based on the play Bertram, Ou le Pirate (1822) by Justin Séverin Taylor, translated into French by Charles Maturin.
Premiered at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan on 27 October 1827.
A new Teatro Real production in coproduction with Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
